The Foundational Learning Support (FLS) Program is an educational program by the African Sustainability Lab x Graceham Academy that adapts the globally recognized Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach to improve literacy and numeracy among children in underserved communities in Ghana, starting in Amasaman. By grouping learners based on their ability rather than age or grade, and delivering targeted instruction through trained local volunteers and teachers, FLS helps children rapidly build foundational reading and math skills. The program runs both during school terms and vacation periods, with strong community involvement and ongoing monitoring to ensure measurable learning gains.
